Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Supervisor specializing in Pediatric Home Health Nursing to lead and coordinate care for our pediatric patients. This leadership role involves overseeing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise in pediatrics, critical care, and home health settings, along with strong management skills to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth is essential. Duties
- Supervise and manage a team of pediatric home health nurses, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and quality standards
- Coordinate patient care plans including assessments, medication administration, IV infusions, tube feeding, catheter care, and ventilator management
- Oversee patient evaluations such as vital signs, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and medical documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth
- Conduct staff training on sterile techniques, aseptic procedures, infection control, and specialized care such as neonatal ventilator management or dementia care
- Facilitate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in pediatrics, neonatal intensive care (NICU), PICU, or neonatal ventilator support
- Monitor clinical performance through patient assessment data and quality audits; implement improvements as needed
- Provide leadership during emergency situations such as airway management or acute pain episodes; ensure staff are trained in basic life support (BLS) and advanced skills like suturing or spinal tap procedures
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards including NCQA standards and Workers' Compensation Law
Experience
- Extensive clinical background in pediatrics with experience in neonatal intensive care (NICU), PICU, or pediatric acute care settings
- Proven supervisory or nurse management experience leading multidisciplinary teams in home health or hospital environments
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to pediatric conditions such as developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, or chronic illnesses like Geriatrics or Alzheimer’s/dementia care
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth; experience with ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding is highly desirable
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterile processing techniques, specimen collection/processing, and laboratory experience
- Ability to perform physical assessments including vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), phlebotomy, medication administration (including injections), and use of specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or neonatal ventilators
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and NCQA standards
- Excellent communication skills for triage situations and family education on health coaching and discharge planning

Pay range : $105,000 - $110,000
